What information does LitXL ask for first?
The request asks for year level, subject, curriculum, confidence, independence, challenges, goals, learning considerations, preferred frequency, lesson length, availability, and contact details.
Is a lesson booked as soon as I submit a request?
No. The request starts a human follow-up process. Lesson details are confirmed with you before tutoring begins.
Lessons and structure
How long does a LitXL lesson go for?
The standard LitXL lesson is 75 minutes: 15 minutes Smart Self Study plus 60 minutes live 1:1 tutoring.
Can lessons be longer?
Yes. Longer or custom lesson durations can be discussed when appropriate for the student and confirmed with the family.
Is Smart Self Study separate from live tutoring?
No. Smart Self Study is the first phase of the same LitXL session and leads into the live tutoring phase.
Tutors
How does LitXL match students with tutors?
LitXL reviews the request and coordinates tutor fit. It is admin-managed tutor matching, not an open tutor marketplace where families must choose alone.
Can tutors see student information before approval?
Tutors should only see appropriate request details when they are permitted to review or support that student.
Can tutors assign homework?
Yes. Tutors can assign homework through the lesson workflow when it supports the student's learning plan.
Pricing and billing
Does LitXL show public prices?
Pricing is confirmed with families before tutoring begins. The public pricing page explains how the lesson structure and billing approach work without inventing a fixed plan.
Is homework billed as a live tutoring session?
No. Tutor-assigned homework should not create a second live tutoring session or be treated as live tutoring time.
What happens if tutoring runs longer?
Any legitimate extra tutoring time is handled through the platform workflow and reviewed before parent billing is finalised.
Reports and progress
How do parents know what happened in a lesson?
Tutors can prepare parent-friendly reports covering what was done, progress or improvements, and what comes next.
Can support change over time?
Yes. Tutoring can adjust as the student's confidence, schoolwork, assessments, and goals change.
Technical access
Can students access tutoring from their dashboard?
Connected students can access assigned lessons, upcoming sessions, and meeting links through authorised app pages when the session is available.
Are student accounts secure?
LitXL uses authenticated student accounts and role-based app routes. Public marketing pages do not expose private dashboard routes through the sitemap.
