Terms of Service

These Terms apply to parents and guardians, students, tutors, administrators and visitors who use LitXL.

LitXL is a managed tutoring service. Parents submit requests, LitXL administrators match students with tutors, tutors schedule live sessions, students may complete AI-supported prep, and parents may receive reports.

LitXL (ABN 81 911 988 261) operates this service in Australia.

• Students or parents may create student accounts where available.
• Tutor accounts are created by LitXL administrators.
• Users must keep login details secure.
• Users must provide accurate and current information.

Tutoring is provided through scheduled live sessions. AI-supported prep supports tutoring but does not replace live tutors. Session times, tutor availability and scheduling are managed by LitXL, administrators and tutors.

• AI may provide hints, explanations and summaries.
• AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete.
• Students should not rely on AI as the sole source of learning.
• Tutors remain responsible for human tutoring judgement.
• AI should not be used to cheat or submit copied answers.

Students must use the platform respectfully and must not submit abusive, harmful, illegal or inappropriate content. Students must not attempt to bypass AI limits, access other accounts or disrupt the service.

• Provide accurate contact and student information.
• Help ensure the student uses the platform appropriately.
• Help ensure the student attends sessions on time.
• Contact LitXL about scheduling, payment or report concerns.

Tutor-specific terms may be separate. Tutors must protect student information, only access assigned students, provide accurate sole-trader payment details where requested, and use the platform professionally.

If parent payments are enabled, payment methods are handled securely through Stripe. LitXL may issue fortnightly invoices based on completed tutoring time at the agreed hourly rate. Scheduled or cancelled sessions are not billed. Tutor payments are handled separately by LitXL administrators and are not automatic payroll or Stripe Connect payouts.

Cancellation and rescheduling rules will be communicated before paid services begin. Nothing in these Terms limits rights under Australian Consumer Law.

LitXL may send service emails about onboarding, sessions, cancellations, reports, billing and account activity. Parent reports are for learning support and are not formal academic assessments.

LitXL content, lesson templates, platform UI and reports belong to LitXL or relevant owners. Students and parents may use materials for personal learning only. Tutors should not upload content they do not have rights to use.

Students and tutors may submit answers, files, notes and reports. User content may be used to deliver tutoring services and improve learning support. Users must not upload unlawful or infringing material.

LitXL handles personal information according to the Privacy Policy.

LitXL provides the platform and tutoring services with reasonable care, but does not guarantee grades, outcomes or uninterrupted availability. AI outputs may be imperfect, and tutor/session availability may vary.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.

To the extent permitted by law, LitXL’s liability is limited to reasonable remedies connected to the service supplied.

LitXL may update these Terms by posting a revised version on the website.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
